POSITION:        VOCATIONAL TRAINER

DEFINITION:    Being accountable to the Executive Director and under direct supervision of the Program Services Coordinator and with input and guidance of the Production Manager, the Vocational Trainer will be responsible for the supervision and training of program participants in work skills related to employment.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.     Follow daily schedules for staff and work crew in 1:1 training and production on individuals'           program sheets.

2.     Provide 1:1 training to worker on daily basis and document training per goals and objectives,          including progress notes as indicated or individual program sheets.

3.     Implement vocational and behavioral intervention programs as determined by the IHP, ISP, IEP, or        PCP process.

4.     Record daily: production, objective progress, participant attendance, hours worked, training time,   and accurately calculate participant wages.

5.     Maintain contract quality and meet production deadlines according to customer contract                          requirements.

6.     Provide self-help assistance to workers as necessary. Follow the documents informal training          programs.

7.     Participate in meetings as assigned.

8.     Take part and monitor crew meetings monthly.

9.     Attend staff meetings as scheduled.

10.   Keep production area orderly, neat, and safe at all times.

11.   Utilize "Gentle Teaching" and positive praise when interacting with persons served at all times.         Provide reinforcement according to individual needs/schedule. Redirect inappropriate behaviors.

12.   Prepare incident/accident forms as necessary (using objective statements).

13.   Inform and report to Program Services Coordinator incidents, program progress, etc. of persons served.

14.   Follow all programs and procedures as designed unless procedure change is requested and approved         or through IHP or PCP.

15.   Perform other duties as assigned.

 

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

1.     Must have good math skills, and able to complete work efficiently.

2.     Must have empathy, understanding and respect for individuals with handicapping conditions.

3.     Must be able to work at high volume/stress.

4.     Must be able to maintain atmosphere of harmony with co-workers, associates, and client/workers.

5.     Must be able to adhere to agency policies/procedures.

6.     Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

7.     Appearance should be neat and well groomed, and able to maintain professional standards. Must   maintain good attendance record.

8.     Accept changes and growth in KAT and willingly accept different types of positions and     responsibilities.

9.     Must have current CPR/First Aid certification

10.   Must have a valid Washington State Drivers License.
