Kitsap Applied Technologies provides services in five programs:
Specialized Industries;
Supported Employment;
Pathways to Employment;
Person to Person;
Retirement/Community Access Services.

The Specialized Industries program provides vocational training, employment and ethical behavior development to individuals who perform subcontract jobs in an industrial setting. These jobs include recycling projects, aircraft parts assembly, coaxial cable assembly, and a variety of packaging projects. KAT currently provides services to 40 individuals in this program. We are always looking at increasing our diversity of production contracts to provide opportunities to train clients in different skills and offer variation in jobs to maintain client interest.

The Supported Employment Program provides vocational training and employment to small groups of 3-6 individuals within a community business. Vocational trainers are assigned to each group for training and support purposes. Currently KAT has four job sites. These include car wash services, grounds maintenance services, linen services and janitorial services. KAT anticipates expanding our Supported Employment program utilizing the referrals from our Specialized Industries program as new job opportunities are developed.

 The Pathways to Employment Program develops community employment opportunities through development of individualized pathway to employment plans for clients in the specialized industries program, the person to person program and transition students graduating from high school who are between the ages of 21 and 62. The program provides followup continuous support for all individuals on a pathway plan, development of competitive community employment opportunities and ongoing direct support training.

 The Person to Person Program provides development of pathway to employment planning for adults under the age of 62 who are unable to participate in employment services.  The program also includes community exploration in pursuit of pathway goals, volunteer opportunities, and on-going 1:1 support for successful community integration.

 The Retirement/Community Access  Program provides opportunities for elderly individuals (ages 62 and older) to participate in a variety of community activities. Picnics, field trips, arts and crafts class, volunteering at PAWS and at Meals-On-Wheels, have made the program very successful greatly improving the quality of life of the participants in the program.
